VICTRON ENERGY CYR020120450, is used to protect a Lithium battery from being discharged. The battery sends its status to the VE Bus-BMS, which in turn controls the relay. The relay will disengage when its control input becomes floating. If the battery voltage recovers after shutdown (which will happen when no other loads are connected to the battery), the BMS output will go high and the Cyrix will reset after 30 seconds. After 3 attempts to reconnect, the Cyrix will remain disconnected until the battery voltage has increased to more than 26V (or 52V respectively) for at least 30 seconds (which is a sign that the battery is charging).

Instead of a Cyrix Li-Lo, a Battery Protect can be used. It has slightly lower power consumption.

Overheat protection
The Cyrix disconnects if temperatures become too high, and reconnects when it has cooled down.

No voltage loss
Cyrix battery combiners are an excellent replacement for isolation diodes. The big advantage is that there is no voltage loss, so the voltage from the alternator or battery charger does not need to be increased.

Prioritization of the starter battery
In a typical installation, the alternator is connected directly to the starter battery. The house battery and possibly a bow thruster battery or other battery, are each connected to the starter battery with a Cyrix battery combiner. When a Cyrix senses that the starter battery has reached the coupling voltage, it ensures that the others are charged in parallel.

Bidirectional voltage sensing
The Cyrix senses the voltage from both batteries. It can therefore also connect if, for example, the house battery is charged with a charger. The Cyrix-ct 12/34 has a dual power supply. Therefore, it will switch on if the voltage from one battery is too low to control the unit. To protect against accidental use, the Cyrix-ct will not close if the voltage is lower than 2V (12V batteries) or 4V (24V batteries).

Parallel connection in emergency (Start Assist)
The Cyrix can also be switched on with a push button (Cyrix is closed for 30 seconds) or a switch for manual operation. This is suitable if a battery is discharged or damaged.
