Digital Switching

Digital Switching – The Future of Smart Electrical Systems

Digital switching means replacing traditional, mechanical switches and fuse panels with a digital control system. Instead of each switch and fuse having its own cable, all consumers (e.g., lighting, pumps, and other equipment) are connected to smart power modules placed near the consumers. These modules communicate via a network (often NMEA 2000 or similar) and are easily controlled from panels, touchscreens, or even a mobile phone.

Advantages of digital switching:

  • Fewer and shorter cables, resulting in simpler and neater installation.
  • Flexible control – you can turn functions on and off from multiple locations, or via an app.
  • Built-in electronic fuses and smart monitoring of the electrical system.
  • Ability to program logical functions, e.g., certain lights turn off automatically when you leave the boat.

Digital switching thus makes it possible to control and monitor the entire electrical system in a modern, safe, and user-friendly way – whether you are building new or want to upgrade your boat, RV, or cabin.
