VICTRON ENERGY BMS400100000, is a simple and cheap alternative to VE.Bus BMS. smallBMS can replace the VE.Bus BMS in several areas of use. However, it is not suitable with inverters/chargers such as VE.Bus MultiPlus and Quattro because it does not have a VE.Bus interface. The smallBMS is intended for use with Victron Smart LifePo4 batteries with circular M8 connectors.

< strong>A simple and inexpensive alternative to VE.Bus BMS
smallBMS can replace VE.Bus BMS in several areas of use. However, it is not suitable with inverters/chargers such as MultiPlus and Quattro because it does not have a VE.Bus interface. smallBMS is intended for use with Victron Smart LifePo4 batteries with circular M8 connectors. smallBMS has three outputs, similar to the VE.Bus BMS.

Load disconnection output
The load output is normally high and free-floats in case of cell undervoltage (standard 2.8 V/cell , can be adjusted on the battery between 2.6 V and 2.8 V per cell). Maximum current: 1 A. The load output is not short-circuit protected. The load output can be used to control:

  •  A high current relay or contact.
  •  The input for remote control of a BatteryProtect, inverter or DC-DC converter or other loads . (a non-switching or switching on/off cable may be required, please see the detailed manual on our website).

Pre-alarm output
The pre-alarm output is floating usually free and increases in case of imminent cell undervoltage (default 3.1 V/cell, adjustable on battery between 2.85 V and 3.15 V per cell). Maximum current: 1 A (not short-circuit protected). The shortest delay between pre-alarm and load disconnection is 30 seconds.

Load Disconnection Output
The charging output is usually high and free-flows if there is an imminent risk of cell overvoltage or overtemperature. Maximum current: 10 mA. The charging output is not suitable for powering inductive loads such as a relay coil. The charging output can be used to control:

  • remote on/off of a charger,
  • a Cyrix-Li charging relay.
  • a Cyrix-Li Battery Combiner.

System Disarm/Arm Input
The System Disarm/Arm input controls both outputs. When it is off, both outputs are free-floating so that loads and chargers are off. The system on/off consists of two terminals: Remote L and Remote H. It is possible to connect an on/off switch or a relay between L and H. Alternatively, terminal H can be switched to the positive terminal of the battery, or terminal L can be switched to the battery's minus.

Protects 12V and 48V systems
Operating voltage range 8 to 70V DC.
