MARETRON FFM100-01, is a module for measuring fuel consumption, which can thus be optimized, leading to significant savings and reduced environmental impact. The FFM100 uses state-of-the-art, positive displacement measurement technology, providing unparalleled accuracy. In fact, the accuracy of the FFM100 is largely the same as large commercial vessel systems, at a fraction of the cost. Another advantage of the technology is that it does not require pulse-equalized products and other flow components. The FFM100 also uses temperature compensation with sensors in each transducer. The temperature of the return fuel (for diesel engines) is normally warmer than the fuel pumped into the engine. Since hot liquid expands, it is important to compensate for this difference. Otherwise, up to 5% error may be shown for fuel consumption.

The FFM100 can also measure reversible flow, which occurs when the fuel fluctuates due to the fuel pump. Less accurate systems calculate reversible flow as part of the fuel consumed, while the FFM100 also compensates for this. Finally, the FFM100 can also measure the flow of other liquids (e.g., water and oil).

Features

  • The FFM100 converts a variety of flow senders (e.g., fuel, water, etc.) to NMEA 2000® Network Data
  • All flow senders are ordered separately depending on the application (i.e., single fuel flow sender for gas engine, dual fuel flow senders for diesel engine, water flow sender for seawater, etc.)
  • Fuel flow sensors facilitate optimization of fuel consumption for reduced operating costs for fuel
  • Fuel flow sensors use positive displacement measurement technology for superior accuracy compared to other measurement technologies, e.g.
  • Fuel flow sensors do not require expensive fuel conditioning components such as flow straighteners and pulse dampeners
  • Sensors implement true temperature compensation with built-in thermistors for increased accuracy
  • Sensors automatically detect reverse flow due to fluctuating pressure difference from injection pumps
  • Sensors pass particle sizes up to 70 micrometers (diesel fuel filters normally filter down to 2 micrometers to prevent injector clogging)
