MARETRON FFM100-01, is a module for measuring fuel consumption which can thus be optimized, which can provide great savings and reduce the impact on the environment. The FFM100 uses state-of-the-art positive displacement measurement technology, which provides unmatched accuracy. In fact, the accuracy of the FFM100 is roughly the same as large commercial shipboard systems, at a fraction of the cost. Another advantage of the technology is that it does not require pulse smoothed products and other flow components. The FFM100 also uses temperature compensation with sensors in each transducer. The temperature of the return fuel (for diesel engines) is normally warmer than the fuel pumped into the engine. Since hot fluid expands, it is important to compensate for this difference. Otherwise, up to 5% error can be shown for fuel consumption.

The FFM100 can also measure reversible flow, which occurs when the fuel fluctuates due to the fuel pump. Less accurate systems calculate the reversible flow as part of the fuel used, while the FFM100 also compensates for this. Finally, the FFM100 can also measure the flow of other liquids (eg water and oil).

Functions

  • FFM100 converts a quantity flow senders (eg fuel, water, etc.) to NMEA 2000® Network Data
  • All flow senders are ordered separately depending on the application (ie single fuel flow senders for gas engine, dual fuel flow sender for diesel engine, water flow sender for seawater, etc.)
  • Fuel flow sensors facilitate optimization of fuel consumption for reduced fuel operating costs
  • Fuel flow sensors use positive displacement measurement technology for superior accuracy compared to other measuring technology, e.g.
  • Sensors for fuel flows do not require expensive fuel conditioning components such as flow diverters and pulse dampener
  • Transducers implement real temperature compensation with built-in thermistors for increased accuracy
  • Transducers automatically detect reverse flow due to fluctuating pressure differential from injection pumps
  • Transducers pass particle sizes up to 70 micrometers (diesel fuel filters normally filter down to 2 micrometers to prevent clogging of injectors)
