Raymarine LightHouse 3.16 – New integration with Cyclops Marine for smart load sensing

Discover how the latest LightHouse update provides sailors with real-time data for rig load, increased safety, and optimized performance with wireless sensors from Cyclops Marine.

Cyclops Marine's advanced wireless load sensing technology can now be integrated into Raymarine systems for all users who update to the operating system LightHouse HVAR 3.16.

New software update – LightHouse HVAR 3.16

Raymarine is launching a new version of its operating system, LightHouse HVAR 3.16, named after the Croatian island of Hvar. The update provides several new features, including wireless load sensing from Cyclops Marine, which improves both safety and performance for sailors.

What is Cyclops Marine?

Cyclops Marine was founded in 2018 to make advanced load sensing available to more than just racing sailors and superyachts. With the integration into LightHouse 3.16, both racing and recreational sailors can benefit from real-time data for rig load.

How does the technology work?

Cyclops Marine's sensors measure the load on the sailboat's rig and send data wirelessly to a Cyclops Marine Gateway below deck. This gateway connects to Raymarine Axiom™ displays, where the user can view static and dynamic load data from up to 50 sensors.

Benefits for racing and recreational sailors

  • Racing sailors: Real-time data makes it possible to optimize rig tension for maximum speed and repeatable performance.
  • Recreational sailors: Provides clear information about sail load, which increases safety and makes it easier to determine when it's time to reef.
  • Catamaran owners: Eliminate uncertainty in strong winds and limited visibility by seeing exact load values on Axiom displays.

More news in LightHouse 3.16

  • Anchoring mode with keel compensation and waterline distance.
  • Pop-up window for Mercury™ engines with system information and warnings.

Gregoire Outters, General Manager at Raymarine: "With Cyclops Marine and new features in LightHouse 3.16, we give sailors full control and increased safety through real-time data for navigation and rig optimization."
