What is a VHF radio?

A VHF radio is a multi-tool for communication at sea and can also be called a "lifeline to land". A VHF radio allows you to both communicate with others and receive information, and also functions as an emergency transmitter if an accident should occur. With the help of a marine radio from Icom, you can, among other things, receive weather reports and navigation news at regular intervals every day. When the mobile fails, a VHF radio can be a real lifesaver, literally.

Permit for VHF radio

As mentioned above, you need a permit to use a VHF radio on board your boat. You apply for this from Sweden's coastal radio station, which is responsible for weather reports and navigation news. If you do not have a VHF permit, you can apply for this directly online.

VHF accessories

In addition to the VHF radio itself, we also have a large selection of various accessories for Icom's marine radios. You will find, among other things, belt holders, various types of chargers, clips, batteries, antennas, hand microphones, speakers, command stations, and much, much more. Icom has been manufacturing VHF and other radio communication since 1954 and knows what they are doing. They are today one of the world's foremost producers on the market and have a good reputation for high-quality products. That their marine radios and other products are waterproof is a matter of course!
