ICOM 10170, Has a GMDSS station that meets the requirements for SOLAS-regulated vessels. The Icom GM600 has a large and clear display that can be set to day or night mode for optimal readability. The new graphical user interface makes the radio simple and intuitive to use. The Icom GM600 meets the GMDSS requirements for commercial SOLAS-regulated vessels operating in international waters. If supplemented with the PS-310 DC/DC converter, the GM600 also meets the MED "Wheel mark" requirements for European merchant vessels.

The GM600 has a dedicated DSC receiver that continuously monitors channel 70 independently of the main receiver or other functions. The DSC function can display up to 7 received and transmitted DSC messages, and when using the DSC screen, the selected channel is shown on the right side of the screen.
