VICTRON ENERGY CYR010120011, is an intelligent voltage-controlled relay (battery combiner).

Some battery combiners disconnect a battery if a rapid and high load occurs. A battery combiner may also fail to connect to a large but discharged battery bank because the voltage drops immediately below the cut-in voltage when the batteries are connected.

The software in the Cyrix-CT 12/24 does more than just connect and disconnect based on a battery voltage and at a specific time interval. The Cyrix-ct looks at a general trend (voltage up/down) and reverses an ongoing action if the trend has changed during a specific period. The period depends on how much the voltage has varied from the trend.

Long bolts
Cyrix 12/24-120 has 13 mm bolts (M6) and Cyrix 12/24-230 has 16 mm bolts (M8). This allows more than one power cable to be connected.

Overheat protection
Cyrix disconnects if the temperature gets too high, and reconnects when it has cooled down.

No voltage loss
Cyrix battery combiners are an excellent replacement for isolation diodes. The big advantage is that there is no voltage loss, so the voltage from the alternator or battery charger does not need to be increased.

Start battery prioritization
In a typical installation, the alternator is connected directly to the start battery. The service battery and possibly a bow thruster battery or other battery, are each connected to the start battery with a Cyrix battery combiner. When a Cyrix senses that the start battery has reached the connection voltage, it ensures that the others are charged in parallel.

Bidirectional voltage sensing
Cyrix senses the voltage from both batteries. It can therefore also connect if, for example, the service battery is charged with a charger. Cyrix-ct 12/34 has dual power supply. Therefore, it switches on if the voltage from one battery is too low to control the unit. To protect against accidental use, the Cyrix-ct does not close if the voltage is lower than 2V (12V batteries) or 4V (24V batteries).

Parallel connection in emergency (Start Assist)
Cyrix can also be switched on with a push button (Cyrix is closed for 30 seconds) or a switch for manual operation. This is suitable if a battery is discharged or damaged.
