VICTRON ENERGY PSC242553095, is a 5-step charger with 24V/25A (3): three outputs for charging battery banks. All outputs can deliver full rated current but the total of the three outputs together can never exceed the charger's current capacity. Bluetooth is included and you can monitor the charger and set alarms directly from your phone. Customizable, intelligent, and dynamic charging functions. Connection cable, ADA010100100, is purchased separately.
Bluetooth Smart-enabled
All smartphones, tablets, or other devices that are Bluetooth Smart-enabled can be used to monitor, change settings, and update the charger when new software features become available.
Phoenix Smart (1+1): two outputs for charging 2 battery banks
The second output, which is limited to about 3 A and has a slightly lower output voltage, is intended for charging a starter battery.
Phoenix Smart (3): three full current outputs for charging 3 battery banks
All outputs can deliver full rated current but the total of the three outputs together can never exceed the charger's current capacity.
Automatic voltage compensation
The charger compensates for voltage drop in the DC cables by gradually increasing the output voltage as the DC current rises. See the user manual for further details.
Adaptive 5-step charging algorithm: bulk - absorption - reconditioning - float - storage
The Phoenix Smart charger uses our well-known "adaptive" battery management system that can be pre-programmed to suit different types of batteries. The adaptive function will automatically optimize the charging process in relation to how the battery is used.
Right amount of charge: Variable absorption time
When only shallow discharges occur (for example, a yacht connected to shore power), the absorption time is shortened to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure the battery is fully charged.
Prevent damage due to excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode
If a high charging current combined with a high absorption voltage has been selected to quickly charge a battery, the charger will prevent damage caused by excessive gassing by automatically limiting the rate of voltage increase as soon as the gassing voltage is reached.
Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: Storage mode
Storage mode is always activated when the battery has not been subjected to discharge for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for 12 V batteries) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive electrode plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to "equalize" the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, one of the main causes of premature battery failure.
Also charges lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO₄)
An on-off control in the charger can be implemented by connecting a relay or open collector output from a lithium-ion BMS to the remote control port. Alternatively, full control over voltage and current can be achieved with Bluetooth.
Fully programmable charging algorithm
The charging algorithm can be programmed with Bluetooth or the VE.Direct interface. Three pre-programmed algorithms can be selected with the "mode" button.
Remote on/off control
The remote on/off control consists of two terminals: Remote H and Remote L. A remote switch or relay contact can be connected between H and L. Alternatively, terminal H can be pulled up or terminal L can be pulled down. See the manual for details (manual linked further down the page).
VE.Direct interface
For a connected data link to a Color Control panel, PC, or other devices.
Programmable relay
Can be programmed with the VE.Direct interface or a Bluetooth-enabled device to be triggered by alarms or other events.
