Ultra-high efficiency “green” battery charger
With up to 95% efficiency, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to Industry Terms. And once the battery is fully charged, power consumption reduces to 0.5 watts, about five to ten times better than Industry Terms.
Reconditioning
A lead-acid battery that has been insufficiently charged or has been discharged for days or weeks will deteriorate due to sulfation. If detected in time, sulfation can sometimes be partially repaired by charging the battery with low current up to a higher voltage.
Recovery function for fully discharged batteries
Most chargers with reverse polarity protection do not detect a battery that has been fully discharged or near zero volts and therefore do not charge the battery. However, the Blue Smart IP65 charger attempts to charge a fully discharged battery with low current and resume normal charging once sufficient voltage has been achieved across the battery terminals.
Storage mode: Less corrosion on the positive plates
Even the lower float charging voltage, which follows the absorption period, causes grid corrosion. It is therefore important to reduce the charging voltage even further when the battery remains connected to the charger for more than 48 hours.
Temperature compensated charging
The optimal charging voltage in a lead-acid battery varies inversely with temperature. The Blue Smart IP65 charger measures ambient temperature during the test phase and compensates for temperature during the charging process. The temperature is measured again when the charger is set for low current during float or storage. Special settings for cold or warm environments therefore do not need to be made.
Lithium-ion battery mode
The Blue Smart IP65 charger uses a specific charging algorithm for lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO₄), with automatic lithium-ion under voltage protection reset.
The VictronConnect app
Install, read, and configure your Blue Smart IP65 charger via your smartphone. You can see the status of your charger and battery and even check the function of your charger by using the VictronConnect app. By default, you can read the voltage and current on the screen.
