VICTRON ENERGY BPC240842002, is a Blue Smart IP22 is a new professional battery charger with built-in Bluetooth at 24V/8A and 1 output. Blue Smart IP22 can be used on devices in your workshop and on motor vehicles such as (classic) cars, motorcycles, boats, caravans and motorhomes. The seven-step charging algorithm gets the most out of your battery. The charger supplies the battery with the power it needs, maintains its health and ensures better performance and longer life. Unlike other brands, the Blue Smart IP22 charger tries to recharge fully discharged batteries by forcing low current into them. Afterwards, normal charging resumes as soon as the battery terminals have sufficient voltage.
The Blue Smart IP22 charger is equipped with built-in Bluetooth and you can check the status of the charger and the battery via a smartphone, a tablet or a laptop. All settings on the charger can be made with the VictronConnect app.
Bluetooth Smart
The wireless solution to monitor voltage and current, to change settings and to update the charger when new features become available.
High efficiency
With 94% efficiency, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard and once the battery is fully charged, the power consumption is reduced to 0.5 watts, about five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Adaptive 6-step charging algorithm: Test - bulk - absorption - reconditioning - float - storage.< /strong>
The Blue Smart charger is equipped with a microprocessor controlled adaptable battery management. The adaptation function will automatically optimize the process in relation to the way the battery is used.
Fully programmable charging algorithm
The absorption, float and storage voltages as well as the reconditioning setting and temperature compensation value can be programmed with the Bluetooth app. After you activate the expert mode, it is possible with the app to change basically all parameters and time limits used by the charging algorithm.
Storage mode: less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use
Storage mode is always activated when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In the storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for 12 V batteries) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive electrode plates. Once a week the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to 'balance' the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte and sulfate deposits, one of the main causes of premature battery failure.
Also charges lithium-ion batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are charged using a simple bulk - absorption - float algorithm.
Recovery function for fully discharged batteries
Starts charging even when the battery has been discharged to zero volts. Reconnects to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with an internal disconnection function.
NIGHT and LOW setting
In NIGHT (night) or LOW (low) setting mode, the output current is reduced to max. 50% of normal output power and the charger becomes completely silent. The NIGHT setting ends automatically after 8 hours. The LOW setting can be terminated manually.
Protected against overheating.
The output current is reduced when the temperature increases up to 50 °C but the Blue Smart charger is not affected.
Eleven LEDs for status indication
Charging algorithm: TEST / BULK / ABSORPTION / RECONDITION / FLOAT / STORAGE / READY. Mode setting button: NORMAL (14.4V) / HIGH (14.7V) / RECONDITION / LI-ION.
40 cycle history log
The history screen contains historical data from the charger's entire lifetime and detailed statistics from the last 40 charging cycles.
VE.Smart Networking
VE.Smart Network is a wireless communication network from device to device (Device to device, D2D) between Victron products, which use Bluetooth Smart.
Battery voltage and temperature compensation as well as current control as an option
VE.Smart Network opens up the possibility of optimizing the charging process: a Smart Battery Sense, Smart
Battery Monitor or a Smartshunt, can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature to one or more battery chargers. A Smart Battery Monitor or Smartshunt also communicates battery current.
Synchronized parallel charging
Synchronize up to ten battery chargers in a VE.Smart Network to have them charge a battery as if they would
be a great charger. The chargers synchronize the charging algorithm between them. They switch simultaneously from one charging mode
to another, for example from bulk to absorption.
Synchronized parallel charging has several interesting advantages:
- Redundancy: if one charger stops for any reason, the other chargers continue to work.
- Flexibility: easily add a charger to the network if more power is needed.
- Cost: several low-current chargers usually cost smaller than a high-current charger.
- Installation: it may be easier to fit several low-current chargers in a limited space.
