VICTRON ENERGY ORI121236120, Orion-Tr Smart DC to DC charger is a professional DC to DC adaptive 3-step charger with built-in Bluetooth, 12/12-30A and 360W. For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where (smart) generator and starter battery are used to charge the service battery. The device can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and can be controlled via a remote on/off switch and has a motor that uses a detection mechanism. The Orion Tr-smart charger can be used in 12 V or 24 V systems and is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400 W and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power. Suitable for high temperatures up to 55 °C with a total rated power up to 40 °C.

Adaptive charging algorithm in three stages: bulk-absorption-float
- For oxygen batteries, it is important that the absorption time is kept short for smaller discharges to avoid overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is fully charged.
- For lithium batteries, the absorption time is fixed, by default at two hours.
- Alternatively, a fixed output voltage can be selected.
Suitable for use in vehicles with a smart alternator (Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines)
The built-in engine cut-off detection stops the converter when the engine is not started. This prevents unwanted discharge of the starter battery (see the manual for more details).
Remote control on/off
It is possible to connect an on/off switch for remote control or a relay to a two-pole connector. Alternatively, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the positive of the battery or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the minus of the battery (or, for example, a vehicle chassis)
