VICTRON ENERGY SKI024080002, SKYLLA-I is a modern and powerful battery charger for 24V that withstands the stresses of difficult environments: heat, moisture and salty atmosphere. Skylla-I (1+1) is equipped with 2 isolated outputs. The other output, which is limited to about 4 A and has a slightly lower output voltage, is intended for charging a starter battery. Blame-I (3) is equipped with 3 isolated outputs. All outputs deliver full rated current.

Robust
Aluminum epoxy powder-coated cases with drip protection and stainless steel brackets withstand difficulties in adverse environments: heat, humidity and salt air. The circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Temperature sensors ensure that current components always operate within specified limits, should this be necessary for automatic reduction of the output current under extreme environmental conditions.

Flexible
In addition to a CAN bus interface (NMEA2000) a rotary switch, DIP switch and potentiometers are available to adapt the charging algorithm to a particular battery and its conditions of use. See the manual for a full overview of the possibilities (manual is linked further down the page).

Proper charging for a lead-acid battery: varying absorption time
When only shallow discharges occur, the absorption time is kept short to prevent overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is fully charged.

Battery voltage
To compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance, Blame-i is provided with a voltage sensor so that the battery always receives the correct charging voltage.

Use as a power source
As a result of the perfectly stabilized output voltage, Skylla-i can be used as a power source if batteries or large buffer capacitors are not available.
