VICTRON ENERGY BAT412201084, is a battery in Victron's AGM range which offers the AGM range which has a very low internal resistance. This makes them particularly suitable for  discharge applications at high currents such as converters, bow thrusters and winches.

Using high purity materials and lead/calcium grids ensure that both AGM and GEL products have particularly low self-discharge so they will not discharge for long periods without charging.

The battery is supplied with M8 drilled, flat copper terminals which ensures the best possible connection contact and eliminates the need for battery terminals. The batteries meet both CE and UL specifications for fireproof ABS plastic enclosures and come with Victron's 2-year worldwide warranty.

Low self-discharge
Due to the use of lead calcium grids and high purity materials, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored for long periods of time without charging. The self-discharge rate is less than 2% per month at 20°C. Self-discharge doubles for every 10°C rise in temperature. Victron VRLA batteries can therefore be stored for up to a year without recharging, if stored in cool conditions.

Exceptional recovery after discharge >
Victron VRLA batteries have exceptional discharge, even after deep or prolonged discharge. However, repeated deep and prolonged discharges have a very negative effect on the life of any lead acid battery and Victron batteries are no exception.

Battery Discharge Characteristics
The nominal the capacity of Victron AGM and Gel Deep Cycle batteries refers to 20 hours of discharge, in other words: a discharge current of 0.05 C. The nominal capacity of Victron Tubular Plate Long Life batteries refers to 10 hours of discharge. The effective capacity decreases with increasing discharge current. Note that the capacity reduction becomes even faster with constant power load, e.g. an inverter.

Estimated lifetimes

  • VRLA AGM: Lifespan 7-10 years
  • VRLA GEL: Lifespan 12 years
  • VRLA GEL 2 Volt cells: Lifespan 20 years
