SIMARINE STR2, is an advanced radar-based level sensor developed to deliver highly accurate and stable measurements of liquid levels in plastic tanks.
SIMARINE STR2 , is an advanced radar-based level sensor developed to deliver highly accurate and stable measurements of liquid levels in plastic tanks. Thanks to the radar technology, the measurement is not affected by the density, temperature or movement of the liquid, which makes the STR2 particularly reliable in marine environments where tanks are exposed to vibrations, tilt and constant level changes.
The transducer works by transmitting radar signals towards the surface of the liquid, providing consistent and accurate results even in irregularly shaped tanks. The STR2 is designed for plastic tanks with heights from approximately 150 to 2000 millimeters and is designed to integrate directly into modern marine systems via NMEA 2000. This means that tank levels can be shared seamlessly with plotters, multifunction displays and other devices on the boat’s digital network.
With no moving parts, the STR2 is essentially maintenance-free and built for a long life. Installation is simple: the sensor is mounted on top of the tank and requires no internal calibration. The result is a reliable, networked and professional level sensor that provides a modern and accurate solution for monitoring liquid levels in plastic tanks.

Comparison between STR1 and STR2
The Simarine STR1 is a radar-based level sensor with analog outputs and Bluetooth, perfect when you want to replace traditional sensors and at the same time be able to read the tank level via the Simarine app. The STR2, on the other hand, is a pure NMEA 2000 sensor, built to integrate directly into the boat's digital network and share tank data with plotters and other NMEA devices. The STR1 is therefore best suited for analog or app-based installations, while the STR2 is the obvious choice in modern NMEA systems.
