YACHT DEVICES YDWN-02, is a NMEA 0183 to Wifi gateway that makes it possible to wirelessly receive data from NMEA 0183 to a computer, tablet or mobile. This way you can see position, course, speed, depth, wind, AIS and other information in one application. The YDWN-02 has two NMEA 0183 ports (inputs/outputs) that can configure the speed between 300 and 115200 baud. It makes it possible to multiplex data from two devices at different speeds, eg navigation data (4800 baud) and AIS (38400 baud). Several physical listeners can be connected to the outputs. Both RS-232 and RS-422 are supported. Compatible with COM ports and USB serial adapters.

YDWN-02 can have its own Wi-Fi network (range approx. 30 meters) or be integrated into an existing Wi-Fi network. If it is integrated into an existing Wi-Fi network, the range can be significantly longer and connected devices can access all information wirelessly. It is also possible to configure access via the internet. The gateway supports TCP and UDP networks (both can be in operation at the same time). It is compatible with almost all marine software including OpenCPN, INavx, Navionics Boatin App, MaxSea, Coastal Exporer and many more.

No external application is needed to view the data. The YDWN-02 features colorful web-based gauges from a built-in web page. You can see wind, engine, course, speed, depth and other information in any browser. You can customize the page layout and gauge selection. You can also see NMEA logs.

To change the settings in YDWN-02, you need a device connected with Wifi. In the settings you can configure one or more outputs for any data type, include the same port from which the data was received. Multiple data sources can be selected for any output. That makes the YDWN-02 a NMEA 0183 router and multiplexer. Individual tabs can be set for incoming and outgoing NMEA 0183 data on any port, helping to reduce traffic on slow connections.

Two gateways can act as a NMEA 0183 wireless extender and allow more physical devices. To pair the devices, you need to set both to use the UDP protocol with the same port number. You can also pair it with a Yacht DevicesNMEA 2000 Wifi Gateway. Its server must then be configured as NMEA 0183, which supports bidirectional conversion between NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183. In this way, a wireless bridge is obtained between a NMEA 2000 network and NMEA 0183 devices.

YDWN-02 automatically plays record your track with weather, depth and other data in an internal memory (up to 32000 points). This data can be saved to a GPX file for viewing in Garmin MapSourxe, Google Earth or other mapping software, or as a CSV file for spreadsheets.
