YACHT DEVICES YDOG-01 is designed for gasoline engines that lack a digital interface, and provides NMEA 2000 equipment with engine RPM, alternator voltage (measured via the NMEA 2000 interface), and engine hours.
It can also be programmed to use data from NMEA 2000 temperature or pressure sensors and send these as coolant and oil pressure (or temperature) or turbo or fuel pressure. The unit can be programmed to handle high RPMs, over-temperature, and low voltage warnings, as well as set the status of the charging indicator (displayed on a plotter or NMEA 2000 display).
To use the converter, connect it to an NMEA 2000 network. Wrap the sensor cable 4-5 times around a spark plug cable and secure with tape. For most installations, no other settings are needed, but you may need to adjust the RPM according to the ignition system and your engine.
