MARETRON VDR100-01, is used to store data from all products in an NMEA 2000® network. Each message is stored using solid-state memory technology, and data can be easily retrieved with a standard USB flash drive. Depending on the memory size, up to one year of data can be stored. If the memory runs out, the oldest recorded data is deleted (circular deletion) so that the latest data is always available. Recorded messages can be used in many ways, e.g., to analyze performance, track routes, identify service needs, see how the network has functioned, investigate events that have occurred, and identify errors. All to reduce costs and increase safety. An example is if a fuel flow module (which shows how much fuel is consumed), with engine speed monitoring and a GPS receiver, you can see where the boat has been, how fast it went, how much the engine worked, and how much fuel was consumed.
All of this can be easily displayed in Maretron N2KExtractor where graphs can be presented, and the route can be followed on a map. It is also possible to export data to a spreadsheet program for further analysis. Select one or more recorded messages and the date range for which you want to see the statistics.
