YachtSense Link software upgrade

To ensure your YachtSense Link router operates optimally, follow these steps to upgrade the software. This guide will help you through the entire process of upgrading with Axiom, from preparing the files to completing the upgrade and testing the system.

Currently, YachtSense Link can be upgraded using the supplied .tar.bz2 file, and to upgrade YachtSense Link, you can use either an AXIOM chartplotter or a computer.

Upgrade via an AXIOM:

Important: If you are upgrading from v4.21, two conditions must be met:

1. Your AXIOM must be running LightHouse LH4.7.172 (or higher) before performing the upgrade.
2. You must perform a MASTER RESET on your YachtSense Link router before starting the software upgrade. (Note: If YachtSense Link is on v4.30 or higher, a reset is not required.)

Procedure:

1. Copy the YachtSense Link software file onto a MicroSD card and insert it into the AXIOM. Note: The software can be downloaded from our website. It will download a ".zip" file from the website, which contains the "tar.bz2" file. You need to extract the contents of the zip file so the "tar.bz2" file is in the root directory of your MicroSD card.
2. Power on the YachtSense Link and the AXIOM chartplotter (making sure they are networked together correctly).
   
   
   
   
3. On the AXIOM (running LH4.7.172 or higher software), go to the home screen.
   
   
   
   
4. Open the YachtSense Link "Calibration" page in the top right corner of the home screen.
5. If running v4.21 or lower, perform this reset; otherwise, skip this step - Navigate to:
   1. Advanced Settings > Restart & factory reset > (enter the Admin Password - on the label on the side of the unit)
   2. Click "Reset to factory settings".
   3. Wait for the YachtSense Link to fully reboot.
6. Navigate to: Advanced Settings > Software Upgrade > (enter the Admin Password - on the label on the side of the unit)
   
   
   
   
7. Click "Browse file to upload", then navigate to the MicroSD card where you have copied the software file.
   
   
   
   
8. Select the file and the AXIOM will upload the file from the MicroSD card to the router. Note: This is not "upgrading" the router - that is the next step...
9. Once the file has been uploaded to the router, click "Upgrade" to actually upgrade the YachtSense Link's software.
   
   
   
   
10. Once the upgrade is complete, power cycle the YachtSense Link router and the entire navigation system to ensure the AXIOMs correctly communicate with the router over RayNet.
11. Test the system to ensure it is operating as expected.
