Raymarine Axiom - Backup and Log Files

There are many situations where; it can be good or even necessary to know how to backup or retrieve the log files on a Raymarine Axiom MFD.
In this blog post we go through:
- Crash logs
- Diagnostic data (from the Master MFD if you have more in the system).
- User data (routes / waypoints / tracks)
- System data
- Log N2K data (see separate blog post about this)
Before using this blog post, think about; that Crash logs/user data are deleted when you perform a "Power on Reset", therefore make sure that you save all logs and backups on a memory card before restoring a device!
Crash Logs
Following the steps below will save the Crash Logs and ö other log files from the device to the SD card.
- Gå to - Home screen> Settings> Network> Diagnostics> Save logs:
- MFD will save a number of files onå usd card:
- Make sure you include all files in the "logs" folder if you send them to Raymarine
Diagnostic data
By following the steps below, save diagnostic data to SD cards.
- Gå to Master MFD
- Gå to - Home screen> Settings> Network> Diagnostics> Product Info> Save data
- MFD will create a "Diagnostics_.json" file på The SD card, which will be in the
folder: Raymarine> My Data
User data (routes / waypoints / tracks)
By following the steps below, you save user data to SD- the card.
- Gå to Master MFD
- Gå to - Home screen> My Data> Import / Export> Save my data> Save all data> click on card location
- Select "Save my data"
- Make sure you are happy with the default name on the file or rename it and then click onå Save
- MFD will create an Archive.GPX file onå The SD card with all the user's waypoints/routes and
Queues
To load these files back into the MFD, click on "Import from card"
System data
By following the steps below, you save system data on; the SD card. Please be aware - This backup will not save all MFD settings - as follows (this data should be recorded at a easy reinstallation:
- MFD – units
- i.e. Meters instead of Feet
- SONAR
- Depth Offset
- Transducer Selection
- Temperature Calibration
- Speed Selection/Calibration
- Paired Keypads
- i.e. RMK-10
- Radar
- Paired Wireless Radar (i.e. Quantum)
- Radar Overlays – i.e. AIS Targets
- Radar Target Reference Modes (i.e. Relative instead of True)
To save the data to the SD card, proceed as follows: p>
- Gå to Master MFD
- Gå to - Home screen> My Data> Import / Export> Save settings> click on slot
- Make sure you are happy with the default name of the the file or rename it and then click onå Save
- The MFD creates a "Settings.lh3" file på The SD card, located in the folders: Raymarine> My Data
To load these files back into the MFD, click on "Import from cards"
