Satellite radio - Iridium

Icom satellite radio uses the Iridium satellite network as a platform. It can be used as a communication tool in remote and isolated areas where there is no mobile phone coverage or normal radio infrastructure. Although terrestrial network infrastructure may be rendered unusable by human error or natural disasters, satellite radio can provide a stable backup, independent of other networks.
