Victron Energy PMR482602020, is a 48 V 6 kVA inverter/charger with two individual MTPP tracker inputs (trackers) for 3 kWp solar energy and 450 V, for a total of 6 kWp solar energy. Thanks to high-frequency technology and a new design, this powerful inverter weighs only 11 kg. It is also extremely efficient, draws little power in standby mode, and is very quiet in operation. The display shows parameters for battery, inverter, and solar cells. The same parameters can be accessed with a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, by using the VictronConnect app.
Operating modes
Hybrid mode - Stores surplus solar energy in a battery, for use at night or during periods of high demand. Provides extra power from the battery when demand exceeds grid capacity.
Backup mode - Switches to backup mode during a power outage.
Off-grid mode - Operates without grid connection
Generator mode - Controls the generator to minimize operating hours. Provides extra power from the battery when demand exceeds generator capacity.
PowerControl and PowerAssist - Boosting grid or generator capacity
A maximum value for grid or generator current can be set. The Multi-RS will then take into account other AC loads and use any extra current for battery charging, preventing the generator or grid from being overloaded (PowerControl function). PowerAssist takes the principle of PowerControl to a new dimension. Since peak power is often only required for a limited period, the Multi RS will compensate for insufficient generator or grid current with current from the battery. When the load decreases, the surplus current is used to recharge the battery.
Display, Bluetooth and the VictronConnect app
The display shows parameters for battery, inverter, and solar cells. The same parameters can be accessed with a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, by using the VictronConnect app.
Expandable solar capacity, both AC and DC coupled
The integrated solar capacity of 6 kWp can be expanded by adding more solar chargers to the system. Alternatively, the solar capacity can be expanded by installing solar inverters, from which the output current will be automatically controlled by the integrated frequency shifting power control.
Communication ports
VE.Can connection to a GX device for system monitoring, data logging, and remote firmware updates. VE.Can connection to a GlobalLink 520 for remote data monitoring.
