Victron Energy MultiPlus-II is a multi-functional inverter/charger with two AC outputs. It is suitable for professional marine systems, yachts, vehicles, and land-based off-grid systems. It also provides the isolation and redundancy required for ESS installations. PowerControl allows the MultiPlus-II to prevent grid or generator overload, while PowerAssist boosts AC power during peaks. In the event of a power outage, the inverter switches over in milliseconds, keeping computers and sensitive electronic equipment running without interruption. The battery charger combines speed with efficiency through a smart adaptive algorithm that extends battery life. The MultiPlus-II is ready for expansion and supports parallel and three-phase configuration when a system needs to scale up.
A MultiPlus and ESS (Energy Storage System) function
The MultiPlus-II is a multi-functional inverter/charger with all the features of the MultiPlus, plus an optional external current sensor, which increases the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50 A and 100 A respectively. The MultiPlus-II is ideal for professional marine, yacht, vehicle, and land-based off-grid applications. It also has a built-in anti-islanding function, and the list of countries where it is approved for ESS is constantly growing. Several system settings are possible. PowerControl and PowerAssist - Boosting grid or generator capacity
A maximum value for grid or generator current can be set. The MultiPlus-II will then take into account other AC loads and use any extra current for battery charging, preventing the generator or grid from being overloaded (the PowerControl function). PowerAssist takes the principle of PowerControl to a new dimension. Since peak power is often only required for a limited
period, the MultiPlus-II will compensate for insufficient generator, shore, or grid power with power from the battery. When the load decreases, the surplus current is used to recharge the battery.
Solar energy: AC power is available even during grid failure
The MultiPlus-II can be used without grid power, as well as with grid-connected solar power and other alternative energy systems. It is compatible with both solar charge controllers and grid-tied inverters.
Two AC outputs
The main output has an uninterruptible function. The MultiPlus-II takes over the supply to the connected loads in the event of a grid failure or when shore/generator power is disconnected. This happens so quickly (within less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without interruption. The second output is only live when AC power is available at the input of the MultiPlus-II. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.
Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel and three-phase operation (not available for 8k and 10k models)
Up to 6 Multis can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power. Six units of 48/5000/70, for example, will provide 25 kW / 30 kVA output power with 420 A charging capacity. In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be paralleled for a large inverter of 75 kW / 90 kVA and a charging capacity of more than 1,200 A.
Configuration, monitoring, and control of the system on-site
Settings can be changed in just a few minutes with the VEConfigure software (desktop or laptop and MK3-USB interface required). Several monitoring and control options are available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, laptop, desktop computer, Bluetooth (with optional VE.Bus Smart dongle), Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Color ControlGX or another GX product connected to the internet. Operating data can be stored and displayed on our remote management website VRM (Victron Remote Management), which is also free. When connected to the internet, systems can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
