VICTRON ENERGY PMP122505012 , MultiPlus-II combines the features of MultiPlus and MultiGrid. It has all the features of MultiPlus plus an optional external current transformer to implement the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions and to optimize self-consumption with an external current sensor (max. 50 A). It also has all the features of MultiGrid with a built-in anti-islanding device and an ever-increasing list of countries that approve it and is available in models 3000VA - 5000VA.
A MultiPlus and ESS (Energy Storage System) function
The MultiPlus-II is a multifunctional inverter/charger with all the features of the MultiPlus, plus an optional external current sensor, which increases the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50 A and 100 A respectively. The MultiPlus-II is ideally suited for professional marine, yacht, vehicle and land-based off-grid applications. It also has a built-in islanding protection function and the list of countries where it is approved for ESS is constantly growing. A variety of system configurations are possible. PowerControl and PowerAssist - Boost grid or generator capacity
It is possible to set a maximum value for mains or generator current. The MultiPlus-II will then take into account other AC loads and use any extra current for battery charging, preventing the generator or mains from being overloaded (PowerControl function). PowerAssist takes the principle of PowerControl to a new dimension. Since peak power is often only required for a limited period of time,
period, the MultiPlus-II will compensate for insufficient generator, shore or utility power with power from the battery. When the load decreases, the excess power is used to recharge the battery.
Solar energy: AC power is available even during grid failure
The MultiPlus-II can be used off-grid, as well as with grid-tied solar and other alternative energy systems. It is compatible with both solar controllers and grid-tied inverters.
Two AC outputs
The main output has an uninterruptible power supply. The MultiPlus-II takes over the supply to the connected loads in the event of a mains failure or when the shore/generator power is disconnected. This happens so quickly (within less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without interruption. The second output is only powered when AC power is available at the MultiPlus-II input. Loads that should not drain the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output
Virtually unlimited current thanks to parallel and three-phase operation (not available for 8k and 10k models)
Up to 6 Multis can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power. Six 48/5000/70 units, for example, will provide 25 kW / 30 kVA output power with 420 A charging capacity. In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel for a large inverter of 75 kW / 90 kVA and a charging capacity of more than 1,200 A.
On-site system configuration, monitoring and control
Settings can be changed in just a few minutes with the VEConfigure software (desktop or laptop and MK3 USB interface required). A variety of monitoring and control options are available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, laptop, desktop, Bluetooth (with optional VE.Bus Smart dongle), Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Color ControlGX or other GX product connected to the internet. Operating data can be stored and viewed on our free VRM (Victron Remote Management) website. When connected to the internet, systems can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
