VICTRON ENERGY PMP482805000, the MultiPlus-II combines the functions of the MultiPlus and MultiGrid. It has all the MultiPlus features plus an optional external current transformer to implement the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions and to optimize self-consumption with an external current sensor (max. 32 A). It also has all the MultiGrid features with a built-in anti-islanding unit and an ever-increasing long list of countries that approve it and is available in models 3000VA - 5000VA.
A MultiPlus and ESS function (Energy Storage System)
The MultiPlus-II is a multifunctional inverter/charger with all the features of the MultiPlus, as well as an optional external current sensor, which increases the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50 A and 100 A respectively. The MultiPlus-II is ideally suited for professional marine, yacht, vehicle and land-based off-grid applications. It also has a built-in anti-islanding function and the list of countries where it is approved for ESS is constantly growing. Several system settings are possible. PowerControl and PowerAssist - Reinforce the grid or generator capacity
It is possible to set a maximum value for grid or generator current. The MultiPlus-II will then take into account other AC loads and use any extra current for battery charging, preventing the generator or grid from being overloaded (the PowerControl function). PowerAssist takes the principle of PowerControl to a new dimension. Since peak power is often only required for a limited
period, the MultiPlus-II will compensate for insufficient generator, shore or grid current with current from the battery. When the load decreases, the excess current is used to recharge the battery.
Solar energy: AC power is available even in the event of a grid failure
The MultiPlus-II can be used without grid power, as well as with grid-connected solar energy and other alternative energy systems. It is compatible with both solar charge controllers and grid-tied inverters.
Two AC outputs
The main output has an uninterruptible function. The MultiPlus-II takes over the supply to the connected loads in the event of a grid failure or when the shore/generator power is disconnected. This happens so quickly (within less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to function without interruption. The second output is only live when AC power is available at the input of the MultiPlus-II. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output
Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel operation and three-phase operation (not available for 8k and 10k models)
Up to 6 Multis can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power. Six units 48/5000/70, for example, will provide 25 kW / 30 kVA output power with 420 A charging capacity. In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be paralleled for a large inverter of 75 kW / 90 kVA and a charging capacity of more than 1,200 A.
Configuration, monitoring and control of the system on site
Settings can be changed in just a few minutes with the VEConfigure software (desktop or laptop and MK3-USB interface required). Several monitoring and control options are available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, laptop, desktop, Bluetooth (with optional VE.Bus Smart dongle), Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Color ControlGX or another GX product connected to the internet. Operating data can be stored and displayed on our remote monitoring website VRM (Victron Remote Management), which is also free. When connected to the internet, systems can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
