VICTRON ENERGY ORI124838120 , Orion-Tr Smart DC to DC Charger is a professional DC to DC adaptive 3-step charger with built-in Bluetooth, 12/48-8A and 380W. For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where (smart) alternator and starter battery are used to charge the service battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and can be controlled via a remote on/off switch and has a motor that uses a detection mechanism. The Orion Tr smart charger can be used in 12V or 24V systems and is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400W and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output. Suitable for high temperatures up to 55°C with a total rated power up to 40°C.

Bluetooth Smart compatible
Any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet or other device can be used to monitor, change settings and to update the charger as new software features become available.

  • Battery charging algorithm (configurable) or fixed output.

Adaptive charging algorithm in three stages: bulk- absorption-float

  • For oxygen batteries, it is important to keep the absorption time short during minor discharges to avoid overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is fully charged.
  • For lithium batteries, the absorption time is set, by default, to two hours.
  • Alternatively, a fixed output voltage can be selected.

Suitable for use in vehicles with a smart generator (Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines)
The built-in engine disconnection sensor stops the converter when the engine is not running. This prevents unwanted discharge of the starter battery (see the manual for more details).

Remote control on/off
It is possible to connect a remote on/off switch or relay to a two-pole connector. Alternatively, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the battery positive or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the battery negative (or e.g. a vehicle chassis)

All models are short-circuit protected and can be connected in parallel to increase output current.
It is possible to connect an unlimited number of units in parallel.

High temperature protection
The output current decreases at high ambient temperatures.

IP43 protection
When the unit is installed with the screw terminals facing down.

Screw terminals
No special tools are required for installation.
