VICTRON ENERGY ORI122424120, Orion-Tr Smart DC to DC charger is a professional DC to DC adaptive 3-stage charger with built-in Bluetooth, 24/12-20A and 240W. For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where (smart) generator and starter battery are used to charge the service battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and can be controlled via a remote on/off switch and has an engine that uses a detection mechanism. Orion Tr-smart chargers can be used in 12 V or 24 V systems and are suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400 W and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power. Suitable for high temperatures up to 55 °C with a total rated power up to 40 °C.

Bluetooth Smart-enabled
Any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, or other device can be used to monitor, change settings, and update the charger as new software features become available.

  • Battery charging algorithm (configurable) or fixed output.
  • Compatible with intelligent generators: mechanism that detects engine in operation.

Adaptive three-stage charging algorithm: bulk - absorption - float

  • For acid batteries, it is important that the absorption time is kept short during minor discharges to avoid overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure the battery is fully charged.
  • For lithium batteries, the absorption time is fixed, by default to two hours.
  • Alternatively, a fixed output voltage can be selected.

Suitable for use in vehicles with a smart generator (Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines)
The built-in engine shutdown detection stops the converter when the engine is not running. This prevents unwanted discharge of the starter battery (see manual for more details).

Remote on/off control
It is possible to connect a remote on/off switch or a relay to a two-pole connector. Alternatively, the H-terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the battery's positive or the L-terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the battery's negative (or e.g. a vehicle chassis)

All models are short-circuit protected and can be paralleled to increase output current
An unlimited number of units can be paralleled.

High temperature protection
The output current decreases at high ambient temperature.

IP43 protection
When the unit is installed with the screw terminals facing downwards.

Screw terminals
No special tools are required for installation.
