VICTRON ENERGY PCH012030001, Phoenix Battery Charger 12V/30A 2+1 outputs. Phoenix Battery Charger has an adaptive 4-stage charging characteristic: bulk - absorption - float - storage. Two full power outputs and one 4 A output. Universal input voltage 90-265 V, 50/60 Hz. The Phoenix charger offers a microprocessor-controlled 'adaptive' battery management system that can be pre-programmed to suit different types of batteries. The adaptive function will automatically optimize the process in relation to the battery's usage pattern.
4-stage charging: max-charging current – equalization charge– post-charge– maintenance charge
The Phoenix Battery Charger is characterized by a microprocessor-controlled and adaptive charging system that can be preset to suit different types of batteries. The adaptive feature will automatically optimize the charging process in relation to how the battery is used.
Correct charging: variable charging time
When only small discharges occur (e.g., when a leisure boat is connected to shore power), only a short post-charge is needed to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the post-charge time will automatically increase to ensure the battery is fully charged.
Prevents damage caused by heavy gassing: BatterySafe mode
If, to quickly charge a battery, a high charging current and high equalization voltage have been selected, the Phoenix charger will prevent damage that can occur from heavy gassing by automatically limiting the voltage increase once the gassing voltage is reached.
Reduces maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use
Storage mode (see Fig. 1 & 2 below) Maintenance charging starts when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. The voltage during maintenance charging has been set to 2.2 V per cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to reduce gassing and corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the charging returns to the equalization stage to "equalize" the battery. This feature prevents stratification of the electrolyte and sulfation, a major cause of premature aging.
Increased battery life
Temperature compensation Every Phoenix charger comes with a temperature sensor. When connected, the charging voltage automatically decreases as the battery temperature rises. This feature is especially recommended for sealed batteries and when significant temperature fluctuations can be expected.
Voltage sensor
To compensate for voltage losses in cables due to cable resistance, Phoenix chargers are equipped with a voltage sensor, so that the battery always receives the correct charging voltage.
Computer connection
All Phoenix chargers are equipped with an RS-485 computer connection. What you need to connect to the computer is our computer link MK3-USB (see under accessories). Together with the software VEConfigure, which can be downloaded for free from our website www.victronenergy.com, you can customize all the charger's parameters. This includes output voltage and frequency, over- and undervoltage settings, and programming of the relay which can, for example, be used for various alarm functions or to start a generator.
