VICTRON ENERGY BMS012201000, the BMS 12/200 is a battery management system for Victron's lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) smart batteries. It is specifically designed for 12 V systems with a 12 V alternator. The BMS 12/200 monitors and protects each individual battery cell in the battery (or battery bank) and disconnects the alternator, charging source, or DC loads in case of low battery voltage, high battery voltage, or overtemperature.
The dedicated alternator connection sets a current limit and controls the current in one direction from the alternator into the battery, so that alternators of all sizes (and starter batteries) can be safely connected to the smart lithium batteries or other batteries.
The dedicated load connection will disconnect loads and charge in case of low battery voltage, high battery voltage, or overtemperature. The BMS is also equipped with a connector for remote on/off function, to switch off the BMS (and the system) via a remote switch.
