Victron Energy's Lithium-NG batteries are lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP) available with a nominal voltage of 12.8 V, 25.6 V or 51.2 V in various capacities. They can be connected in series, parallel, and in series/parallel to create a battery bank for system voltages of 12 V, 24 V or 48 V. The maximum number of batteries in a system is 50, providing a maximum energy storage of 192 kWh in a 12 V system and up to 384 kWh in a 24 V and 48 V system.
Built-in shunt
Battery data (battery voltage, current, and temperature) is transferred to the BMS and evaluated there, e.g., how to calculate the state of charge, which can then be read out via VictronConnect or a GX communication center, or to create and issue specific warnings and alarms.
Automatic setup
Monitoring and control via the Victron Connect app or a GX device and the VRM portal. All battery parameters are automatically managed by the BMS. The BMS automatically detects the system voltage and the number of batteries used in parallel, in series, and with series/parallel connection. The BMS (from now on Lynx Smart BMS NG 500 A/1,000 A, additional models to come) is mandatory and must be purchased separately. Monitoring and control are done via VictronConnect (each BMS model has Bluetooth), a GX communication center, or the VRM portal. You can see battery parameters such as cell status, cell voltage, battery current, and temperatures in real-time. The battery's firmware is automatically updated by the BMS. Easy console mounting Mounting brackets make installation easy and ensure that the battery is optimally secured against slipping or tipping.
Increased ingress protection
The Lithium-NG batteries are effectively sealed against dust and can withstand low-pressure water jets, making them suitable for environments where exposure to dust and water is a concern.
Low self-discharge
The self-discharge rate has been significantly improved and is now a maximum of 2% of the battery capacity per month. A low self-discharge contributes to the NG battery's overall performance, longer lifespan, and reliability.
Supplement with Lynx BMS NG
The Lynx Smart BMS NG is a dedicated battery management system (BMS) specifically designed for Victron Lithium NG batteries. These batteries use lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO4) and are available in 12.8 V, 25.6 V or 51.2 V and with several capacities. They can be configured in series, parallel, and in series/parallel to enable the creation of battery banks with system voltages of 12 V, 24 V or 48 V. The maximum number of batteries in a single system is 50, allowing for a maximum energy storage of 192 kWh in a 12 V system and up to 384 kWh in a 24 V and 48 V system. The maximum energy storage capacity can be multiplied by connecting several Lynx Smart BMS systems in parallel, which also ensures redundancy if one of the battery banks fails.
