When the charging voltage in a 24 V battery system reaches over 24 V will the balancing unit to be activated and compare the voltage across the two series connected batteries. The balancing unit will load the battery with the highest terminal voltage (or batteries connected in parallel) with a current up to 1 A. The resulting difference in charge current will ensure that the batteries will reach the same state of charge.
