OCEAN SIGNAL RESCUEME MOB1 is the world's smallest AIS MOB distress transmitter with integrated DSC. The MOB1 is compatible with most inflatable life jackets. MOB1 is made to be installed in the life jacket and is automatically activated when the jacket is inflated, sending its first emergency message already within 15 seconds. The integrated turn signal light provides maximum visibility in low light. MOB1 communicates with the vessel you have separated from and to other vessels nearby (up to 5 NM depending on conditions). To alert emergency services, there is an alternative product, the rescueME PLB1, which communicates directly with a satellite network for SAR.
In an emergency, the rescueME MOB1 provides two methods of quickly communicating your position with an accuracy of a few meters back to the ship , plus visual indication via the built-in turn signal light. The best chance for quick rescue if you fall overboard is from your own boat. The crew must immediately become aware of the incident and steer towards your position while the rescue is being carried out. Even in the calmest of waters, it is alarming how quickly visual contact with a person in the water can be lost. When MOB1 is activated, it sends an alarm to all AIS receivers and connected displays in the vicinity. The integrated GPS means that an exact position is sent to your vessel and others who can assist. Another feature of the MOB1 is the ability to activate a DSC alarm on your ship's VHF alerting the crew to the situation.
Compatibility: Most modern chartplotters connected with an AIS and DSC VHF can receive MOB messages. Older systems sometimes cannot display the icon correctly. In such cases, check and update the screen software.
