ACTISENSE A2K-TDC-5M, is a micro cable 5 meters NMEA 2000 Male - Female. Available in various lengths, the cable assemblies can be used as either a drop cable from an NMEA 2000 backbone or to extend the length of the backbone cable. Actisense Lite cable assemblies allow for quick installation and come with a quality assurance as only the Actisense UL-certified cable is used. The NMEA 2000 cable contains five wires in a single waterproof cable: power and ground wires, two signal wires (data), and a drain wire. The drain wire connects to the cable shield which protects the signal, power, and ground wires from external radio frequency interference (RFI) and helps reduce RFI emissions from the cable.
NMEA 2000 Lite cable can be used to create a backbone up to 100 meters long. If the required backbone length exceeds 100 meters, the bus center can be extended with NMEA 2000 mini cable to keep the outer Lite sections a maximum of 100 meters. The maximum length of a drop cable (distance from the backbone) is 6 meters. It is important to limit each drop length to the minimum required, as the sum of all drop lengths must not exceed 72 meters.
