YACHT DEVICES YDGS-01N, is an exhaust gas temperature sensor for NMEA 2000 that measures extremely hot gases and liquids between 0 and 800°C.
YACHT DEVICES YDGS-01N, is an exhaust gas temperature sensor for NMEA 2000 that measures extremely hot gases and liquids between 0 and 800°C. It can also be configured to display other temperatures. The unit can control NMEA 2000 switch devices that support PGN 127502, making it possible to automatically start, for example, a fan if the temperature is too high.
The temperature is measured with a thermocouple temperature sensor that has a 90 cm heat-resistant cable with a 1/4" - 20 UNC-thread. The sensor is mounted in the exhaust elbow where a threaded hole is drilled. The accuracy of the sensor is +/- 5.5°C up to 330°C and +/- 11.5°C at 800°C.
NOTE: Keep in mind that the plotter must support exhaust gas temperatures, PGN 130316, to display temperatures above 382°. (If the plotter is older and lacks support for PGN 130316, PGN 130310, 130311 or 130312 can be used, for example, but with a maximum temperature display of 382°).
YDGS-01 can be updated and programmed in three different ways. Data display is via a display that can show exhaust gas temperature. It is also possible to use the Yacht Devices NMEA 2000 Wifi Gateway, YDWG-02, which has built-in web gauges.
YDGS-01 is available in two versions:
