RFOULFREE - TRANSDUCER BOTTOM PAINT, is a custom-made transducer bottom paint that keeps your sonar signal clean with the best anti-fouling technology on the market.
Boats that are in the sea under longer periods have problems with fouling on the sonar transducer. Using normal bottom paint is not recommended, without protection you quickly get fouling on the sensor. It interferes with the transducer's signals, which in turn gives worse results on the echo sounder. Often the fouling also causes turbulence which further deteriorates the transducer's performance, resulting in less detail and poorer depth reading ability.
Propspeed from New Zealand has for more than 20 years supplied fouling protection for propellers. They have now used their experience to develop Foulfree which is a revolutionary anti-fouling coating. Airmar, which is a world-leading manufacturer of sonar transducers, has tested Foulfree with such good results that they guarantee function and that it does not negatively affect transducers.
Foulfree creates a transparent smooth surface that prevents fouling so e.g. barnacles and seaweed do not take hold. It is not a toxic paint that damages the environment but a coating that prevents organisms from taking hold. Foulfree can be applied to sensors made of plastic and bronze.
Foulfree is delivered in a package with a sanding sponge, cleaning cloth, brush and a 15ml tube of Foulfree which is enough for an area of 0.1m2.
