VICTRON ENERGY BAM030712200R, is a battery monitor (fuel gauge) in black for battery, remaining time and much more with built-in Bluetooth. The remaining capacity of the battery depends on the number of amp-hours consumed, discharge current, temperature and battery age. Complex program algorithms are needed to take all these variables into account. In addition to the basic display options such as voltage, current and amp-hours consumed, the BMV-700 series also shows state of charge, remaining time and power consumption in watts.

The BMV-702 has an extra input that can be programmed to measure voltage (in a second battery), temperature or midpoint voltage. To measure the current to and from the battery, a shunt is installed between the battery's negative terminal and the loads or charger. The battery monitor has built-in Bluetooth and you can check the battery status via a smartphone, tablet or laptop. All charger settings can be made with the VictronConnect app.

Please note that you need a short negative cable between the outgoing negative terminal on the battery bank and the inside of the shunt. If you need to supplement with such a cable, they are available under this link: Tinned cable pre-crimped

Easy to install
All electrical connections go to a quick-connected PCB on the current shunt. The shunt is connected to the display with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included: RJ12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m), no other components are needed. Also included is a separate front bezel for a square or round display; a retaining ring for the rear mounting and screws for front mounting.

Very low power consumption from the battery
Power consumption: 0.7 Ah per month (1 mA) @12 V and 0.6 Ah per month (0.8 mA) @ 24 V Especially lithium-ion batteries lose virtually all capacity when discharged to shutdown due to low voltage. After shutdown due to low voltage, a lithium-ion battery has a capacity reserve of approx. 1 Ah per 100 Ah battery capacity remaining. The battery will be damaged if the remaining capacity reserve is drawn from the battery. A residual current of, for example, 10 mA can damage a 200 Ah battery if the system is left in a discharged state for longer than 8 days.
