RAYMARINE TYPE 2 LINEAR DRIVE LONG 12V, are drives most common on sailboats. The linear drives are robust, durable, fast, yet surprisingly quiet. Mounted below deck, the linear drive controls the rudder either with a tiller or a rudder quadrant.

A linear drive is connected to the rudder stock via a freestanding tiller arm. Additional parts from the steering system supplier may be required. The steering must be reversible.
