Since software version Lighthouse 3.2.86, Raymarine's Axiom series (Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL) supports wireless screen sharing via Miracast. This makes it possible to display screen content on a TV or monitor without cables – perfect for a smooth and cost-effective installation.

What is Miracast?

Miracast is a WiFi standard for wireless image transfer, a Manufacturer-neutral alternative to Google Cast and Apple AirPlay. Many modern TVs have built-in support for Miracast. If your TV lacks support, you can use a Miracast to HDMI dongle that receives the signal and transmits it via HDMI. Miracast is sometimes referred to as “HDMI over WiFi” and eliminates the need for long HDMI cables.

Important requirements and recommendations

• Use a certified Miracast device. Cheap, generic dongles are often unreliable.
• Ensure your Axiom display has the latest software (check under Home > Settings and update if necessary).
• Miracast is only available on the Axiom series. Older a/c/e/eS/gS models lack hardware support even with Lighthouse 3.
• Also update the Miracast device to the latest firmware for best compatibility.

HDMI and USB functions on Axiom 2 Pro and Axiom 2 XL

In addition to Miracast, Axiom 2 Pro and Axiom 2 XL offer advanced connectivity options:

• HDMI output: Connect to a TV or PC monitor for high-resolution images.
• USB input: Receives touch input from touchscreen TVs/monitors (requires HDMI cable for video).
• HDMI input: Turns Axiom into a weather-resistant display for external HDMI sources, e.g., PC.
• USB output: Turns Axiom XL into a touchscreen display for PCs and other devices.

Note: If you are using a touchscreen TV, you must use the hardwired HDMI output instead of Miracast to get touch functionality.
