Wireless transmission of screen content (Miracast) from Axiom MFDs.

Since software version LH3.2.86, Raymarine's Axiom series displays (Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL) have a wireless display function that uses the Miracast protocol and allows screen content to be displayed on a TV or monitor stream/view.
Miracast is a WiFi communication standard that represents a manufacturer-neutral alternative to the proprietary formats Google Cast and Apple Airplay. Many TVs support Miracast directly, and for those that do not, there are Miracast to HDMI dongles that can receive the wireless display signal from Axiom and send it to the TV via HDMI. Miracast is sometimes called "HDMI over WiFi". Using Miracast for the display's video output saves installation costs and can improve range, especially compared to HDMI cables.
Make sure you use a properly certified, Wifi Communications-approved Miracast device: We have found that cheap, generic devices are often unreliable, these are simply not worth the hassle. A certified Miracast dongle does not cost much more. You also need updated software for your Axiom series display: Mircast support was integrated very early in Lighthouse 3 version 3.2.86. You can check the software under Home > Settings and, if necessary, update the Axiom display via Update Software. Note: please note that your Miracast dongle/device should also have the latest software version. Miracast is only available on Axiom series displays. Previous a/c/e/eS/gS series MFDs do not have the necessary hardware capacity, even if they have been updated to Lighthouse 3.11.42.
In addition, Axiom 2 Pro and Axiom 2 XL displays also have: An HDMI output for connection to TVs or PC monitors a USB input to receive touch input data from touch screen TVs/monitors (if you use touch screen TVs you must use the hardwired HDMI video output instead of Miracast) An HDMI input to function as a weatherproof, sun-clear display for any HDMI source (such as a PC). A USB output so that Axiom XL can be used as a touch screen display for PC and other touch screen devices Models in the Axiom 2 Pro series have an HDMI output for connection to TVs or PC monitors
