Raymarine AIS700 - Troubleshooting Guide

Below we have compiled the most common steps for troubleshooting a Raymarine AIS 700.

  1. To troubleshoot the AIS700, start by checking the power supply and connections. If the unit does not start or shuts down, check fuses, switches, and cables for damage or corrosion. Ensure that the power cable is properly connected and that the power supply is sufficient.

  2. If no AIS targets are displayed on the screen, check the VHF antenna and GNSS (GPS) antenna for proper connection and installation. Also, make sure that the AIS function is enabled on your display and that there are no data or network issues.

  3. If there are issues with the VSWR alarm, check that the correct antenna is used and that it is not shorted or open. Update the software if necessary.

  4. To avoid data conflicts and data loops, do not connect the product to the same device with more than one network protocol at the same time. If you are using a VHF radio with built-in AIS, make sure that the AIS function is disabled on the radio.

  5. The LED status indicator on the transceiver provides an indication of the product's status. Green indicates normal operation, yellow indicates that the transceiver is not transmitting, red indicates a fault or that the MMSI number is not programmed, and blue indicates that the transceiver is in silent mode.

  6. To avoid issues with the GNSS (GPS) antenna, ensure that it is properly connected and installed in a location with a clear view of the sky or at least not obstructed by metal or interfering objects.
