VictronConnect settings lock – Security seal for critical system settings

New feature in VictronConnect that allows installers to lock important settings and increase system security and stability.

VictronConnect introduces a new feature that makes it possible to secure critical system settings with a security seal. This feature, called settings lock, gives installers the ability to lock important parameters and prevent unwanted changes that could affect system operation.

Why settings lock?

The settings lock improves system stability and is invaluable for engineers managing many installations. At the same time, end-users retain access to important functions such as:

  • Low voltage alarm
  • Battery equalization
  • Firmware updates
  • Current limits

Real-time data, historical data, and graph analysis remain available to all users.

Security Seal – Features

  • Installer lock prevents unwanted changes.
  • End-users can break the seal in emergencies via the forgot password function.
  • Engineers are notified if the lock has been broken at the next connection.

Password management

The password is securely stored in the installer's VRM account and on the connected device. If the phone is lost, there is no risk – the password is protected. For the password holder, all settings are editable, while critical settings become view-only for other users.

Remove the settings lock

The settings lock can be removed with:

  • The original password
  • The PUK code
  • VE.Direct cable

Which products are supported?

The settings lock is now supported by:

  • BMV 712
  • All SmartShunts
  • All SmartSolar chargers
  • RS product series

Soon, the Orion XS DC-DC charger will also support the function.

How to activate the settings lock

  1. Go to the Product Info tab.
  2. Under Lock product settings, select Add lock.
  3. Choose a password or accept the automatically generated 8-digit password.
  4. Confirm on screen.
