VICTRON ENERGY PMP121800000, MultiPlus 500 VA - 1600 VA is the new MultiPlus and is intended to replace the previous MultiPlus Compact line. It is a powerful true sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger that includes adaptive charge technology, and an AC transfer switch in a compact enclosure, and it is available in 500VA, 800VA, 1200VA, and 1600VA models.
Versatile, with intelligent power management
MultiPlus is a powerful true sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger that includes adaptive charge technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch, all in a compact enclosure. In addition to these primary functions, MultiPlus also has several advanced features, as described below.
Parallel operation or three-phase capability
Up to six Multi units can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power. In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for three-phase output.
PowerControl - Managing limited generator, shore, or grid power
With the Multi Control Panel, a maximum generator or shore current can be set. MultiPlus will then take into account other AC loads and use any extra current for charging, preventing the generator or shore power from being overloaded.
PowerAssist - Boosting shore or generator power capacity
This function takes the principle of PowerControl to a new dimension. It allows MultiPlus to extend the capacity of the alternative source. Since peak power is often only required for a limited period, MultiPlus will ensure that insufficient shore or generator power is immediately compensated with power from the battery. When the load decreases, the surplus current is used to recharge the battery.
Adaptive four-stage charger and dual battery bank charging
The main output provides powerful charging to the battery system using advanced and adaptive charging software. The software fine-tunes the automatic three-stage process to suit the battery's condition and adds a fourth stage for longer periods of float charging. The adaptive charging process is described in more detail on the Phoenix Charger datasheet and our website, under Technical Information. In addition, MultiPlus charges a second battery by using a separate maintenance charge intended for the main engine or generator's starter battery.
High start-up power
Required to start loads with high inrush current such as power converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps, or electric tools.
Search mode
When search mode is activated, power consumption during no-load operation is reduced by approximately 70%. In this mode, the Multi switches off when operating in inverter mode, in the event of no load or very low load, and turns on every two seconds for a short period. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter will continue to operate. If not, the inverter will switch off again.
Programmable relay
By default, the programmable relay is set as an alarm relay, meaning the relay will be de-energized in the event of an alarm or a pre-alarm (the inverter is almost too hot, the ripple voltage on the input is almost too high, the battery voltage is almost too low).

On-site configuration, monitoring, and control of the system
After installation, MultiPlus is ready for use. Some settings can be changed with DIP switches. 500/800/1200 VA models: remote switch / battery charging voltage / inverter frequency / search mode. 1600/2000 VA models: battery charging voltage / search mode. Use VEConfig or VE.Bus Smart dongle for more settings.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Cerbo GX or another GX product to connect to the internet. Operational data can be stored and displayed on our remote monitoring website VRM (Victron Remote Management), which is also free. When connected to the internet, systems can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
