VICTRON ENERGY SKY012070000, A powerful, waterproof and intelligent battery charger with an adaptable charging algorithm in seven steps. The Victron Energy Skylla-IP65 is suitable for a wide range of battery types and chemistries and contains a dedicated lithium-ion charging algorithm. The wide universal input voltage provides flexibility to the installation and the charger maintains its full output power regardless of where it is located in the world. The IP65 rating makes this charger particularly suitable for marine, mobile and industrial uses and it withstands harsh weather conditions such as heat, humidity and salt air.

Blame IP65 (1+1): two outputs for charging 2 battery banks
Skylla-IP65 (+1) is equipped with 2 isolated outputs. The second output, which is limited to about 3 A and has a slightly lower output voltage, is intended for charging a starter battery.

Skylla-IP65 (3): three full outputs for charging of 3 battery banks
Skylla-IP65 (3) is equipped with 3 isolated outputs. All outputs deliver full rated current.

IP65 protection
Splash-proof housing covered with steel epoxy powder. Withstands harsh environments: heat, humidity and salty air. The circuit boards are protected with an acrylic paint for maximum rust protection. The temperature sensors ensure that the current components always operate within specified limits, if necessary by means of automatic reduction of output current under extreme environmental conditions.

LCD display
For status monitoring and to easily adapt the charging algorithm to a particular battery and its conditions of use.

CAN-bus interface (NMEA2000)
To connect to a CAN-bus network, to a Blame-in control panel or to Color Control's digital display.

Synchronized parallel operation
Several chargers can be connected in parallel and synchronized using CAN -bus interface. It is achieved by connecting the chargers with RJ45 UTP cables.

The right amount of charge for a lead-oxygen battery: Variable absorption time
When only minor discharges occur, the absorption time is kept down to prevent overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is fully charged.

Prevent damage due to excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode
If a high charging current in combination with a high absorption voltage has been chosen to quickly charge a battery, Skylla-IP65 will prevent damage caused by excessive gas development by automatically limiting the rate of voltage rise as soon as the gas voltage has achieved.

Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: Storage mode
Storage mode is always activated when the battery has not been subjected to discharge for 24 hours. In the storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for 24 V batteries) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive electrode plates. Once a week the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to 'refresh' the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, one of the main causes of premature battery failure.

To increase battery life: Temperature compensation
Each Skylla-IP65 is supplied with a battery temperature sensor. When connected, the charging voltage will automatically decrease with increasing battery temperature. This function is particularly recommended for sealed lead-oxygen batteries and/or when greater fluctuations of the battery temperature are expected.

Battery voltage control
To compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance, Skylla-IP65 is equipped with a voltage control function so that the battery always receives the correct charging voltage.

Use as a power source
Thanks to its excellent circuit control, can Blame IP-44 can be used as a power source with perfectly stable output voltage if there are no batteries or large buffer capacitors available.

Lithium ion prepared (LiFePO4)
A simple on-off control can be implemented by connecting an open-collector relay or switch from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote control port of the charger. You can also achieve complete control over voltage and current by connecting to the CAN bus port.
