RAYMARINE Quantum 2, 18" Q24D, is a CHIRP Radar with Doppler technology for collision avoidance. Quantum 2 with the next generation CHIRP pulse compression radar by Raymarine provides superior target images at both long and extremely short ranges.< /p>
Using advanced doppler processing, the system instantly marks moving objects that the radar picks up and color-codes them to indicate whether they are moving towards or away from you.Quantum with doppler makes it easy to distinguish potentially dangerous targets when navigating heavily trafficked waters.
Identifies dangerous targets easily
Raymarine Quantum 2 with Doppler target processing easily identifies and color codes moving objects picked up by the radar so they can be instantly recognized and thus reducing the risk of collision.
Superior collision avoidance
MARPA with Quantum 2 is a convenient way to track dangerous targets.Raymarine MARPA target tracking uses the same technology as the US s Coast Guard.
How Doppler Radar Works
Microwave energy bounces off a distant target, just like with traditional radar. Moving targets send back echoes at frequencies that vary up or down from what was originally sent. For approaching targets, the frequency increases because the "leading edge" of the returned echo is received more frequently as the distance to the target decreases. For targets moving away, the frequency drops as the returned echoes spread out as the distance increases. The Doppler radar is designed to detect these small variations in wave frequency and use them to classify moving radar targets.
