SRC stands for Short Range Certificate and is also referred to as VHF Certificate in common parlance. SRC Certificate is the correct name today.
You must have an SRC Certificate to use a VHF radio, regardless of whether the VHF radio is fixed in the boat or mobile. The certificate is well suited to be studied as an online course, and with an SRC Certificate, you will be able to register and use your VHF system, which increases your and your passengers' safety, especially when you are outside mobile coverage.
Online Course Structure
The online course for the Boating License is designed to provide you with the easiest possible learning experience, with maximum understanding and knowledge that will benefit you in your boating life. The course is not only structured for you to learn as much as possible, but of course also for you to pass the examination and obtain your Boating License.

Validity Period
Login details are valid for 6 months. They can be extended with the education guarantee or for an additional 4 months for 450 SEK, which is done directly with Båtutbildning.
Course Material
The online course does not require any course material.
Course Book
The online course does not require a course book.
Examination
You need to complete a practical test (simulator test) on your own, which you will get access to via our online course. You take this with you to the theoretical examination, which needs to take place physically on-site with an examiner.
You are welcome to take the test at Båtutbildning in Stockholm or Gothenburg on Sundays during the weekends we have instructor-led courses. It is also possible to contact examiners directly via the Board for Boating Education. Examiners are available throughout Sweden.
Please note that the Examination fee is additional and is currently 625 SEK (plus 65 SEK for the Blue Certificate Book) and is charged by the Board for Boating Education. Payment is made in cash or via Swish at the time of the test.
