MARETRON TLM100-01, used to measure liquid levels using ultrasound technology. The ultrasound is sent from the TLM100 which is mounted on top of the tank. The time it takes for the pulse to be received is measured, just like a sonar, and converted to tank level and can be displayed on any NMEA 2000 display that supports tank display, eg the Maretron DSM410. The TLM100 can measure tank depths up to 1 meter. It can be used for diesel, fresh water, black water, gray water and oil (if petrol is to be measured, the TLM150 is used instead). Unlike most fuel gauges on the market, the TLM100 can be calibrated for tank irregularities.
The TLM100 mounts directly on top of the tank with a SAE J1810 5-hole pattern. It can also be mounted where there are threads in the tank using a 1.5” NPT or a 1.25” BSP adapter (accessory). To obtain stable measurement values, even if the boat rolls, the TLM100 is usually mounted with a focus tube. The hollow tube is lowered into the tank and the TLM100 is mounted on top.
Because the sensor measures the time from when the signal is sent out until it is received, the TLM100 cannot measure levels within 5 cm of the sensor. If it is important to measure the entire tank content, a focus tube that is raised 5 cm, TFTDBE-5H can be used.
When mounting, it is important not to tighten the screws too much. If the screws are tightened too tightly, the values will be incorrect and can be changed quickly. Tighten between 1.1 - 1.5 Nm.
