ACTISENSE USG-2, is a bi-directional converter for NMEA 0183, RS422 and RS232 data to a computer via USB. The USG-2 is isolated, which is better protection for the computer than a regular USB to serial converter. The insulation also ensures that no earth faults can occur. The USB connector is of high quality and the included cable provides a waterproof connection. The screwless contact blocks make it easy to mount conductors. A DIN kit is available for mounting on a DIN rail.
Several LEDs indicate the functions. The blue light is on when a USG-2 is properly connected to a computer, the green light indicates when data is being received, and the orange light indicates when data is being sent. No external power supply is required as the USG-2 gets its power from the USB port. Simple plug & play installation with driver on included CD.
