YACHT DEVICES YDAB-01N, is a multifunctional NMEA 2000 alarm unit that connects to an external 16 mm button (included) which has an LED indicator, and to a standard 4 or 8 ohm speaker (optional). It contains a 10W audio amplifier with 28 different sound signals (horn, alarm, whistle, tone signals, etc.).

With the help of a Wi-Fi router or Wi-Fi gateway, you can control the alarms from a mobile phone or a PC, without using special software. Six alarms (out of 28) from the unit can be controlled from a modern plotter with CZone support (B&G, Simrad, Lowrance, Furuno, Raymarine Axiom, eS and gS). Four alarms can be controlled from buttons connected to a switch controller, YDSC-04. Two or more YDAB-01 units in digital switch mode operate synchronously with factory settings, which can be used on large boats. Just set unique switch bank numbers.

YDAB-01 can be configured for one of the following functions:

  1. MOB button (standard). If the connected button is pressed for two seconds, an alarm sounds and an AIS MOB message is sent (mimicking messages received from EPIRB and MOB devices with AIS function), with the current GPS position. This creates an MOB mark on a plotter. Press a second time to stop the alarm transmission. NOTE! The message sent from YDAB-01 is not transmitted externally via VHF or AIS, but only to other devices on the NMEA 2000 network.

  2. Digital switch alarm unit. The unit functions as an NMEA 2000 switch bank with 28 channels. Each channel has a unique sound and LED flash. The channels (and associated sounds) can be turned on/off from other equipment, including our smart sensors or from a plotter. The button connected to the unit stops the alarm.

  3. Engine monitoring. In this mode, the unit produces audible alarms based on engine alarms, which are transmitted via an engine gateway on the NMEA 2000 network. This is useful on boats where instrumentation may need to be replaced, or to facilitate and amplify detected faults. The unit can also be programmed to create a sound at a specific temperature, engine RPM, etc.

YDAB-01 is available in two versions:

  • YDAB-01N with NMEA 2000 connector
  • YDAB-01R with SeaTalkNG connector
