Discover what’s new in Venus OS 3.70 – from advanced digital switching and Shelly integration to improved GX Boat Page, CANopen support, Node-RED enhancements and detailed battery monitoring. One of the most comprehensive updates for Victron’s GX devices.
Victron is now launching Venus OS 3.70, an update packed with new features, improved integrations and smarter control. The focus is on making GX units even more flexible, powerful and user-friendly – whether used in boats, vehicles, off-grid systems or smart homes.

The Switch Panel, introduced in version 3.60, has now evolved into a central part of the system’s digital control. Venus OS 3.70 adds several important improvements:
GX relays can now be controlled directly from the switch panel when placed in manual mode.
Node-RED-based virtual switches are displayed as interactive controls.
Support for digital switches from Garmin, Shelly and Safiery.
The Switch Panel is now also available in the Marine MFD app, making steering available directly on the boat's multifunction display.
This makes it possible to build advanced and fully customized control systems without leaving Victron's interface.

For marine electric propulsion systems, this is one of the biggest updates to date. Venus OS 3.70 introduces new CANopen profiles for motor controllers from Sevcon and Curtis, among others. Together with existing NMEA2000 support, this provides:
Monitoring of engine speed, power, temperature, direction and regeneration.
Dual engine support.
Improved gauge animations.
Possibility to adjust for inverted motor direction.
This means that more types of electric powertrains can now be seamlessly integrated into the GX system.

A long-awaited new feature is that the GX unit can now display detailed information for each connected battery module:
Individual cell voltages
Cell temperatures
Battery-specific values per module
This gives installers and users significantly better visibility into battery health and troubleshooting.

Node-RED users will receive several improvements that make automations both faster and more intuitive:
Virtual switches that can be connected to any logic.
Ability to set multiple properties in a single message, reducing CPU load.
Conditional evaluation in input nodes, for example for SOC limits or combined conditions.
Brief documentation directly in each Victron node.
This makes it easier to build advanced automation flows without unnecessary complexity.

Venus OS 3.70 introduces full support for Garmin EmpirBus digital switching, both on the GX display and via the VRM Remote Console. Additionally:
GX alarms are now sent out on the NMEA2000 network and displayed on the Garmin MFD.
Ability to select which network connection to use for the internet when GX is connected via Garmin Ethernet.
This improves both control and safety in marine installations.

Venus OS now has built-in support for Shelly Gen2 and later:
Smart switches
Energy meter
RGB light controllers
Devices are automatically detected and can be enabled in the settings. They then appear in the switch panel with support for on/off, dimming, energy metering and color control. This opens up new possibilities for controlling AC loads such as lighting, pumps and heaters.

Support for Safiery STAR-Power, STAR-Light and STAR-Rover allows you to control 12V and 24V circuits directly from the GX unit. Perfect for advanced off-grid systems, custom-built vehicles and professional installations.

Version 3.70 adds support for several new devices:
Gobius tank sensor via Bluetooth
Ruuvi Air sensors
Remote update of Pylontech batteries via VRM
SSS batteries approved for BMS‑Can
Orion XS with NMEA2000 output
Improved tank management, including shape settings and alarms for Mopeka sensors
This broadens compatibility and makes the system more flexible.
The new UI has received several improvements:
New display setting: Mixed – AC in watts, DC in amps.
Ability to turn off animations and save up to 40% CPU on Cerbo GX.
Keyboard navigation throughout the interface.
New languages: Portuguese and Afrikaans.
Improved handling of notifications and alarms.
The update includes important fixes for:
Dynamic ESS
DVCC control
Peak shaving
PV inverter integrations (Enphase, SolarEdge)
Security: brute-force protection and read-only mode for Modbus TCP
Raspberry Pi 5 support (with new UI, no portrait mode yet)

Venus OS 3.70 is one of the most comprehensive and feature-rich updates to date. Whether you work with marine systems, off-grid installations, smart home solutions, or advanced battery monitoring, this release offers improvements that both simplify and deepen control over your entire energy system.
